What the work involves

A child's marker is not the same as any other, and it should not be treated the same. Families ask for a bear, a small toy, a pinwheel that turns in the wind, or something that matches what the child loved.

We choose it with you rather than for you. Tell us what they liked, or send a photograph of something similar, and we will find the closest we can and check with you before it goes out. It is placed where it will not blow away or be taken by a mower, and the marker is cleaned in the same visit.

Everything is photographed before we leave, so you can see exactly how it looks.

Questions families ask

Will the cemetery allow a toy on the marker?

Many have a designated children's section with looser rules, and others limit what can be left. We check the rules for that cemetery before the visit and tell you honestly what is allowed.

Can we send you something to place?

Yes. Post it to us or arrange a handover and we will take it out on the next visit.

Do you replace things that go missing?

We will tell you if something is gone when we are next at the marker, and we can replace it if you want us to.
