Headstone cleaning, done by hand
One visit takes a marker from chalky grey back to the colour the stone was cut in. Flat rate, whatever the size.
$80 flat, any size

What the work involves
Florida is hard on granite. Cemetery irrigation runs mineral heavy water across the same stone several times a week, and every cycle leaves a little more calcium behind. Add humidity, shade and a mower that cannot reach the edges, and a marker turns grey within a few seasons of the last visit.
We work with water, soft brushes and cleaners approved for cemetery grounds. No acid, no pressure washer, no wire wheels. Acid eats the polish off granite and pits bronze, and a pressure washer will strip the face of an older marble stone outright. The slow way is the only way that leaves the stone better than it found it.
The visit finishes with a light hand polish across the whole face, the flower vases cleaned inside and out, and the grass line trimmed back so the marker reads as cared for rather than merely washed.

Where we do this work
Every town inside a hundred mile drive of Citra, Florida. Pick the closest to your cemetery.
Other things we do
Re-highlighting faded lettering
The name is still cut into the stone. Re-highlighting is what makes it readable from the path again.
Quoted per stoneBronze restoration, on site
A bronze marker holds its finish about twenty five years. After that, the letters stop reading long before the stone does.
Quoted per plaqueFresh roses and bouquets
Cut the morning of the visit, set in the vase before we leave, and photographed so you can see them in place.
Quoted by the arrangementHandmade roses and arrangements
Built to hold their colour through a Florida summer, for when fresh flowers will not last the week.
Quoted by the arrangementBears and toys for the little ones
A bear, a small toy or a pinwheel, chosen with you and placed where the wind will not take it.

How long does a headstone cleaning take?
A flat marker is usually under an hour. Upright monuments and large bronze plaques take longer, and we tell you that before the visit is booked.
Will cleaning damage an old stone?
Not the way we do it. Older marble and sandstone are softer than granite and get a gentler brush and more rinsing. If a stone is flaking or the lettering is failing, we tell you rather than work on it.
How often should a marker be cleaned?
Once a year keeps a stone from ever getting bad. Twice a year is better in heavy shade or where a marker sits directly in a sprinkler line.
